The Isle of Man Dance Teachers Association (IOMDTA) is committed to promoting equality, inclusion, and respect across all of its activities. We believe that dance should be accessible to everyone and that all participants should be treated fairly, with dignity and without discrimination.
We aim to create an environment where all dancers, teachers, and attendees feel welcomed, supported, and able to take part with confidence, regardless of age, disability, gender, gender identity, race, religion or belief, or sexual orientation.
The IOMDTA does not tolerate any form of discrimination, harassment, or victimisation. All individuals involved in our competitions and events are expected to behave in a respectful and considerate manner towards others at all times.
As an association working with affiliated dance schools, we expect all members and participants to uphold these values and to contribute to a positive and inclusive environment. Dance schools remain responsible for their own policies and practices, but are expected to operate in line with recognised standards of equality and good practice.
We are committed to ensuring that our competitions and events are delivered in a way that is fair, inclusive, and accessible wherever reasonably possible. This includes considering the needs of participants and making appropriate adjustments to support involvement.
Any concerns relating to equality, inclusion, or inappropriate behaviour should be raised with event organisers or through the appropriate contact channels. All concerns will be taken seriously and handled appropriately.
The IOMDTA will continue to promote an environment where everyone is respected, valued, and able to enjoy their participation in dance.
